Photo essay: Meet Me In The Forest

Meet me in the forest.

For a dance on a carpet of gold-hued autumn leaves covering the ground. Tones of ochre, copper, bronze, yellow and brown catch the light. We’re caught in an attack on the senses. Smell the damp soil, hear an earth song unfold as rustling leaves crackle in the wind. Among the dark textured bark time will pass us by. Our footsteps are deafening thuds in the serene stillness, our footfall out of place here. Catch the waft of wild flowers and wet petals on the edge of a slow-trickling stream, where pebbles invite collecting. Emerald green moss seems to shy away from the only sliver of sun that reluctantly permeates this hiding place. The pleasant-sounding melody brought forth by birds carries through the quiet. The tracks of small deer and the distant call of resident primates serve as reminders of existence outside our world. No disturbance will rip us from the escape.

It is pure visual poetry.
